Barcelona 3-3 Inter Milan live result: Barca on verge of Champions League exit despite Lewandowski brace in thrilling draw

Barcelonagot two late goals from Robert Lewandowski, but it was only enough to draw 3-3 with Inter Milan in a thrillingChampions Leaguematch.

The result keeps Barcelona three points behindInterin group C, facing elimination at the group stage for the second season in a row.

The Italian side can clinch a spot in the round of 16 with a win at home over Viktoria Plzen in their next group match, a result which would eliminate Barcelona from contention.

Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring for the hosts in the 40th minute, as the Spanish side would enjoy a 1-0 half-time lead. Things really kicked off in the second half though, as Nicolo Barella leveled the game in the 50th minute, getting some help from a misjudgment by Gerard Pique along the way.

Lautaro Martinez gave the visitors their first lead of the night in the 63rd minute, with his shot bouncing off of both goal posts before finally crossing the line. Inters lead would last until the 82nd minute, when Robert Lewandowski scored with a deflected shot.

Just seven minutes later, Robin Gosens put the Italian side back in front, clinically capping off a counter-attack. Robert Lewandowski scored his second goal of the night in second-half injury time, leveling the score once more, but the draw is not likely to be enough for Barcelona to ultimately advance.

Dating back to last season, Inter have now won three straight away matches in the Champions League for the first time in club history.

Its bad, I think this Champions League is being very cruel to us, Xavi told Movistar Plus after the match.

Now it is out of our hands. What is left for us is to turn our attention quickly to Sundays El Clasico, bounce back and focus on La Liga because the Champions League became very difficult and complicated for us.

It was too many mistakes, their first goal was a clear mistake by our defence, we let them have too many chances. Soccer is a game of mistakes and we cant afford those in situations like this.

This is the Champions League and you pay a high price for each error you make.

You need to win, to defend well, to score. We needed to play the entire game like we did in the first half. That intensity. Now its hard because we are not in control anymore.

Jurgen Klopp: We had a really positive half-time talk. We wanted more in the second half. Clearly, it worked out.

Everyone who started tonight played really well. Fabio (Carvalho) and Harvey (Elliott), really good. Its the best we could have asked for. Im really pleased.

I really think the first half prepared the second half. When we play to our potential, we are a pretty good football team. We built on the good things from the first half, we kept them moving and obviously they had to change the centre-half.

The goals we scored were exceptional. Its a night where things worked out for us. It changes the mood definitely, and thats good. We all know who is coming on Sunday (Manchester City). That will be different, but its better to go in with the feeling from tonight.

Salah is an outstanding player as we know

I didnt see a lot of players tonight who didnt play really well

We have to improve our consistency, we know that
