Chelsea have been handed a triple injury boost ahead of their must-win Champions League clash against AC Milan with Edouard Mendy, Marc Cucurella and NGolo Kante all training this morning ahead of tomorrows match at Stamford Bridge.

Kante hasnt featured for Chelsea since the second game of the campaign against Tottenham. The Frenchman, who undertook a personalised training regime in pre-season, suffered a hamstring injury in the 2-2 draw with Spurs and has missed the last nine matches in all competitions.

Mendy, meanwhile, has been absent for the past three games due to a knee tendon injury. It kept the goalkeeper out of the Champions League matches against Dinamo Zagreb and Red Bull Salzburg and the weekend win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Speaking at the weekend about the fitness of the duo, Graham Potter said: Theyre absolutely fine in terms of coming through their rehab stages. NG has just been on the grass with the team but not full training. Eddie is a bit further on but hasnt had enough to be involved at the weekend. Maybe next week for him.

Marc Cucurella also missed the victory over Palace on Saturday with an illness; it is understood the Spaniard had a throat problem that required treatment. Yet he was back in training this morning and will be in contention to return to the starting XI having not been away on international duty last week.

Youngster Carney Chukwuemeka was also involved having had an illness of his own after his time away with the England Under-20 squad.
