2nd-from-bottom Sandown & Lake have boosted their chances of escaping relegation from Isle of Wight Division 1 by beating 8th-placed East Cowes Sports 3-1 at the Fairway on Saturday (11th March).

East Cowes Sports led at halftime but a brace from George Johnson and a further 2nd half-goal from Harry Mulholland saw Sandown take all 3 points.

The Romans took a point from the Oakers at Slade Road thanks to goals from Aaron Bennett and Josh Paine.

Bottom-of-the-table Ryde Saints put on a creditable performance in the Ryde derby against near neighbours Binstead, losing by the best of 5 goals. The Binstead scorers were Phil McDonald, Cam ORourke and Sam Hart.

4th-placed West Wight saw off 3rd-from-bottom Vectis at Cowes Enterprise College. Vectis opened the scoring through Jamie Barratt before goals from West Wights Louie Thomas and Charlie Smeeton saw West Wight bag all 3 points.
